Theophilus Kwek

Mr Kwek wishes for the school to focus more on mental health provisions for students, as well as for the school to become more open not just in terms of inclusivity and diversity, but in terms of improving its closed-off, almost unwelcoming image in welcoming visitors and alumni with the comprehensive safety measures in place.

Mr Chua wishes for RI to grapple with its current existence in Singapore's meritocratic system, and stay true to its more inclusive and empathetic values by rethinking its own community building / service education approach (in terms of what we celebrate as success and achievement, and how we choose to address differences lurking within our own seemingly peaceful school community that will allow us to make more meaningful, beyond the surface level contributions).

The featured segment, involving the final point about infusing the importance of a sense of heritage in such a long-standing institution, mentions his inspiration from abroad and of his efforts in applying them to the new Bishan campus during the early 1990s.
